SSL certificates for sites

SSL certificates can now be installed and served from the BaseKit platform for customer’s sites. Please note this feature is not automatically available, contact your account manager to organise enabling it.

Adding certificates

In order to add a SSL certificate for a domain, use the add certificate endpoint. Certificates are provisioned instantly and can be used straight away to secure incoming requests to the domain. We’d expect certificates for both non-www (example.com) and www (www.example.com) to be provisioned for a domain.

It may be optimal to consider using a single certificate for multiple domains, we consider the upper limit of this to be around 40 domains.

Removing certificates

In order to remove a SSL certificate for a domain, use the remove certificate endpoint.

Add domain validation

In order to add domain validation for certificate authorities, use the add domain to validation endpoint.

Limitations

Wildcard certificate support was added in 7.94.
